About Our Cheer Program

Mission

Mooresville Youth Athletics is a non-profit organization focused on the development of every child, in an safe environment. The success of the individual children is our top priority, as we strive to ensure that each child meets his or her goals. With MYA, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a competitive, yet nurturing environment. Every child will have a fun and fulfilling experience when they are part of the MYA family.

Registration is open May 15, 2021 to June 30, 2021. Registration fee is $75.

Please be aware that we will not accept any late registration for cheerleading.

CHEER FAQs:

  • You do not have to have cheer experience to be an assistant coach or team mom 

  • MYA cheer will not participate in any competitions

  • Head Coach/Asst. Coach/or Team mom will be responsible for picking up 
    information/uniforms/etc. for your team at a designated time and 
    location
  • Head Coach/Asst. Coach/or Team mom will be responsible for collecting Raffle/Uniform 
    money due and counting/verifying correct amount owed - prior to turning it in to Cheer 
    Director/Treasurer. (You will receive information on what each person owes)
  • Mandatory to help with fittings and OTA’s (cheer director/cheer manager will schedule with 
    coaches)
  • Team Mom will be responsible for signing up people to work concessions at a designated time

  • The program runs August-November. Coaches will contact participants with practice schedules in late July. Game schedules will be announced by coaches at a later date.

    For practices participants should dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes. No open-toed shoes! Bring a water bottle.

    Admission is charged for all games. Parents may be asked to volunteer to work either concessions or the gate at one game.

    Participants must be at least 6 years old by August 31st of the current year and cannot turn 13 before Aug. 31st of the current year.

    If you register, you MUST attend one of the uniform fittings. Even if you can wear your uniform from last year – you will need to be fitted for new shoes (which are mandatory every year along with bows) and will be other important information regarding optional fundraiser. 

CHEER UNIFORM FITTING DATES:

Dates have not been set yet but once they are we will publish them. Please have your child wear a bathing suit or dance leotard to fittings.
